Have you booked for our 4 Day internet marketing workshop yet? If you’re keen on having a successful internet business and would like some practical, step-by-step training, then we’d love to see you there.
It’s on 8-11th November at Mantra legends, Surfers Paradise, Queensland.
To reserve a place for you and a friend, please go to the link below and fill in your details. Once you’ve done this your place will be confirmed.
Here’s what we’ll be covering.
The workshop is based around the 3 keys to a successful online business:
– Product (What do you sell? What niche?)
– Traffic (How to get targeted buyers to your website)
– Conversions (How to get them to buy once they get there)
Specifically, here’s what we’ll be covering:
– Where to start if you’ve never made money online before.
– How to build powerful little money-earning web-businesses that are so simple you can set them up on a Saturday afternoon.
– A live demo of an easy-do-do web-strategy which made us US$250,000 in our first 12 months from a standing start.
– How to quickly and easily create websites that generate passive income – set them up once, and they chug away making money day-in, day-out, with little or no further effort from you. (These strategies make us tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars a year).
– More advanced strategies that can take your income up to the next level. Over the last four years we’ve perfected a business model that’s made us many millions of dollars. We’ve also taught that business system to others, and they’ve made hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars from it.
– How to identify and eliminate any sub-conscious blockages you may have to earning passive income. This was a very important key to our success. We’ll show you the exercises we still do today to keep our internet business growing, and more importantly to keep the passive income flowing.
– How to plan and implement your overall internet business, so that you build a secure, ongoing income. We believe that planning is essential if you want consistent, long term internet income you can rely on.
We believe that now more than ever it’s vital for you to have a second (and third, and fourth…) stream of income. For us, it’s the internet that provides that sort of security. Imagine having several internet businesses each bringing in a few hundred, or even a few thousand dollars a month. What would that do for your peace of mind?
What’s stopping you?
If you’re like most of the people we talk to about this, then the answer comes down to one of two things:
- “I don’t know where to start with an internet business” or
- “I have an internet business but it’s not making enough money and I don’t know how to improve it”
If you are in either of these categories, then these workshops are designed to help you.

How Sally & Derek Boyer (Australia’s Strongest Man) Got Featured on National TV in a Few Short Months
Posted on 16. Jul, 2012 by Our Internet Secrets.
This case study is about a former Reality TV Gladiator (admits he did not get paid well at all) who struggled financially, but with his wife Sally is now overlooking a $250,000 contract and is on track make more in a few short months than they did in their past 2 years.
Derek and Sally Boyer came up with the concept of the Gladiator Diet soon after attending one of our Workshops.
And with our help and a little hard work, they had tested, trialled and packaged their product ready to launch. We were so impressed with the results we got it didn’t surprise us that they were featured on national television, and things have just rocketed upwards from there.
And the results? They had hundreds of orders within a few days, all done on autopilot! Their website, marketing and strategy was all pre-implemented from the knowledge they gained at the workshop. Now they’ve got organisations and experts from around Australia wanting to do joint ventures with them, some with very big lists!
They now have found their purpose, passion and have a big vision of changing the horrendous obesity endemic across the western world! How cool is that!
Watch their amazing story here:
The audience was so touched, moved and inspired at what 2 complete non-techies have achieved that they voted Derek and Sally the best business builder at our last workshop amongst some seriously good competition.
The lesson here is to make sure you choose the right strategy and marketing plan BEFORE you launch your campaign, believe in yourself, your abilities and your passions even during the toughest of times and to get the right help and mentoring from people who have done it successfully before you. If you don’t, you risk leaving lots of money on the table!
Do you need the right mentoring and coaching?
Amongst other things, we’ll be showing you in detail how to define your niche, get free publicity and create fantastic products quickly and easily at the 4-day OurInternetSecrets workshop coming up on 27-30 July. If you’ve already booked, welcome! We look forward to seeing you there. If you haven’t yet booked your place there are still a few available.
Remember, as a client of ours you qualify for two tickets to this info-packed event.
Andrew and Daryl Grant
PS We’ll be inviting 8 more amazing entrepreneurs just like Derek and Sally at our July workshop to come and share their amazing journey – so come and meet them in person and get ready to be inspired to take your business to the next level

Australia’s Strongest Man Lifts Profits Sky High
Derek: Thank you so much for the warm welcome. My name is Derek Boyer.
Sally: Hi I’m Sally Boyer.
Derek: You’ve heard so many great presentations over the weekend and everybody got some great efforts. What makes us so different is the fact that we are absolute beginners in Internet business. Our journey started four months ago and in the next 15 minutes we’re going to tell you of our incredible journey that it took to get us up onto this stage.
After we’ve done that we’re going to answer an important question that we believe a lot of you will have and then we’d like to offer you an extraordinary package. How does that sound? Awesome. Well, let’s begin with my beautiful wife.
Sally: Thank you. Well, guys, I’m a proud mom. I’m also a teacher. I teach nutrition and I’m in-love with this buffet here.
Derek: She’s the only one that can call me that by the way.
Sally: My two loves are looking after my family and food. I love food. Who out there loves good food? Great. One of my biggest responsibilities is to keep this big guy strong and healthy by being his personal chef. So I think I’m doing a pretty good job.
Derek: She does indeed. Myself for the last 20 years I’ve been chasing this elusive title that being the world’s strongest man. All my efforts have been involved with trying to be the world’s strongest man. It’s like trying to find the Holy Grail to tell you the truth and that’s taken up all my time.
In this country I’ve reigned supreme as Australia’s strongest man. In fact, I’m undefeated in every competition since 1997. [Participants applaud] Thank you. You might have seen me on that little TV show that happened a couple of years ago. By the way, I’m the one in the middle with the smile. That was a lot of fun, but I’ve got to come clean and I’ve got to set the record straight.
A lot of people have this funny idea that if you’ve been on TV – and I’ve been on there quite a lot and I’ve done a couple of movie roles – they believe that you’re a wealthy guy and you live in some big house overlooking a canal behind this place. Nothing could be further from the truth.
This is where we live. This is our little cubby house somewhere in Curara. Last year, we grossed less than $100,000 between us. Money’s never been an issue with us, so we’re comfortable but we also have three children that we’ve got to manage.
We have a little boy running around and we have to older girls. Mikaela the one with the drink, she’s 23. She’s actually just become a psychologist. Let me tell you, there’s nothing worse than having a kid that’s a psychologist. She keeps telling me I’ve got to change my ways. Now the other one, Paris, she’s 16 and the look will tell it all.
Sally: Say no more.
Derek: Okay. The tipping point for us happened last year in November when I returned from last year’s World’s Strongest Man competition.
Sally: In this photo we’re sitting at a tavern celebrating but that whole weekend I had practically carry Derek around. He’s almost broken his back. Just a show of hands, who’d like to carry this guy around? So we decided things had to change and change fast.
Derek: Right. Straight off of that, we did what you guys are doing right now. We actually came into this course exactly four months ago and sat down the back there for the entire four days. We were there and we took notes. Whose hands is about to drop off because of note taking? We were the same. In fact, we had three notebooks of notes. But when we were here, our objectives were to create security, we wanted to create a passive income, and we wanted to create a million dollar turnover industry.
Who has similar ideas to that? Put up your hand. We’re not alone, great. So at that time…
Sally: Our resources are absolutely limited. We were earning less than a $100,000 between us, practically no computer skills, three children to support, no business or marketing skills, and we share one MAC notepad. So things are pretty grim.
Derek: But we did have one thing that a lot of you guys will share with us and that is we had some great ideas. That’s what we did have. What we did was we made application to the Millionaire’s Club and…
Sally: Were accepted.
Derek: We were accepted and we were immeasurably happy because not everybody gets into that club. Soon after…
Sally: We shit ourselves.
Derek: We shit ourselves. We’ve got to come clean because believe it or not, there is a price to be a part of that Millionaire’s Club. It was a price that we couldn’t afford, but we wanted it so much we bluffed in and we signed the contract for a year’s membership on that site. It was going to cost us $2,500 per month for 12 months and without estimated worth, we’re only going to get through around about six to eight months on this program.
That was a driving force for us at the very start; we needed to create capital and turnovers straight away. There’s nothing like that for a motivation.
Andrew: So which one was you, Derek, out that two?
Derek: I really didn’t decide on that.
Sally: Double edged sword there.
Derek: Yeah. That was in November. In the first week of December, Andrew and Daryl came back from their holiday overseas (nice for them) and they had an audit with us. They went through all our business ideas and we must say they were very thorough and they’re very patient and at the end of it…
Sally: The feedback was that we should create a weight loss membership site and what we needed was an outstanding concept, a great twist, we needed data, we need runs on the board, we needed great testimonials from our clients and we needed cash flow.
Derek: We certainly needed cash flow. What we did from there was we went into a 72-hour lockdown and we did everything that you guys are taking notes on right now. All those notes that we took, we took them all out.
We went through the entire thing again. We studied them. What we did was we researched every weight loss program in the world. We sat down and we went through everything. We listed all the good points and the bad points and where they fell short. Do you know what we found?
Sally: We found that out there millions of people suffer unnecessarily because of all the misleading information, incomplete weigh loss systems, and total scams.
Derek: So what we deduced from that was – here was something that there was a great need and importantly there was a massive hole in the market because we couldn’t find one complete weight loss program, not one. So what we did was we got together and we conceived – thanks for the name, Andrew – The Boyer Weight Loss Method.
What we did was we used ahead of the curve strategies on nutrition, mindset, exercise and support. We haven’t got enough time to actually go into what those principles are. But what we designed we believe is the most advanced and complete weight loss program in the world. We went back with these ideas to Andrew and Daryl and we pitched them this question.
Sally: We asked this question: could you imagine losing up to 15 kilos in 30 days while eating up to 12 meals a day and not doing any strenuous exercise?
Derek: Who thinks that would be cool? Put up your hands. Up to 12 meals a day, no strenuous exercise.
Sally: The Grants immediately thought it was a fantastic twist in concept. We then made an agreement to go out and conduct an in-house 30 days weight loss program. We attracted 40 clients, we’re going to record all the data and the due date for the program, it stops at the 14th of January, so just two weeks away.
Derek: Three weeks away.
Sally: Three weeks, sorry.
Derek: Three weeks away. When we were saying that, I remember Andrew vividly saying to me – you said, “Mate, good spin. Does this work? How many kilos could I lose in 30 days myself?”
And I said, “Mate, to be quite honest, 10 to 15 kilos on our program is absolutely possible.”
You know what he said? “We’d like to join up.”
So these were our first participants, believe it or not, out of the 40 that we needed. We needed 40 participants. Now, I’m just going to go to Andrew for a second. This is what I said to you. At the end of the program, how many kilos did you lost over the 30 days?
Andrew: Within 30 days, I lost 13.1 kilograms.
Derek: Excellent, how is that? That’s extraordinary. He’s not a slapping 20-year-old either. All the clients that we chose were between 30 and 60 years old. They’re all hard cases as far as weight loss was concerned. We wanted that, we’re very specific.
Andrew: Except for Brody.
Derek: Except for Brody. There was one young girl involved. The week before Christmas…
Sally: We had loads to do. We had to do our promo shots as an example there, final venue, participants, the right equipment, develop a website, we needed to create some media buzz, and most important to us, we needed to find a reliable, honest, friendly baby sitter.
Derek: Can you guys remember what you were doing at Christmas time? What were you doing on Christmas day? Can you remember what you were doing? Well, this was what I was doing on Christmas day. I was actually formulating the actual exercise program for the entire program. It was happening that quickly we didn’t actually have a Christmas. Now, do you guys remember what you were doing on Boxing Day? This was what Sally was doing with our one and only computer. We had to take days in and days off on it.
Sally: We had the cricket on in the background, but it was my turn to use the computer and note out the strategies for nutrition.
Derek: At that time, we realised that there was an awesome opportunity for our weight loss program. We needed participants, we needed a venue, and we needed that in less than a week’s time on New Year’s Eve, two-thirds of Australia we’re going to make a New Year’s resolution to lose weight. We knew that and it was an awesome opportunity. So, we had to get some advertising and we wanted to do it fast.
Sally: Instead of placing an ad in Gold Coast Bulletin Classifieds which will cost us around $400, we got hold of a journalist who loved our concepts and our story and she immediately put out a story together and presented it on the 30th of December looking something like this. Oh, I made a big, big mistake, write this down, don’t ever leave someone else’s or your own phone number as a contact number.
Derek: My phone has been ringing and it hasn’t stopped ever since. When this went to press in the Gold Cost Bulletin from 4:00 that morning, we started receiving phone calls.
The first phone call that we received was from Jessica Lawrence, the producer of A Current Affair. She was so impressed with our program and our concepts and it was a new idea that she wanted to immediately at 4:00 in the morning hold us down into an exclusive deal. She asked me at 4:00 in the morning, could the crew come down from Brisbane that morning and get all that clients together, plus us and do an interview that would be shown that night – the night before New Year’s Eve – on national television.
Again, we shit ourselves because we only had two clients which happened to be our mentors, we call them up at 7:00 in the morning for advice.
Sally: The reply was, “Great! But call back later. It’s way too early.”
Derek: So, we waited and we had breakfast and we called them back and they said to us, “Best advice, don’t panic. If they want your story, they’ll wait.” We called them and they said, “Yes, come back on Monday.” They gave us the weekend to prepare. That day, we filled up all the spots on our program like that, we had so many calls.
Sally: I had to make a big shout out to the local McDonalds in and I rang. You saw how small our place is so we couldn’t hold any interviews or any meetings at our own home, so we had to go by McDonalds. The coffee’s pretty good, but most importantly they had a playground for our child.
Derek: Who thinks it’s ironic that you would be holding applicants at McDonalds? Well, since we did the Current Affair thing, we can no longer go to McDonalds for fear of anybody taking photos of us and slapping it on Facebook.
From that we have the weekend before A Current Affair was coming back. We immediately went into action. We contacted the Our Internet Secrets staff and Andrew and Daryl and they produced our websites, they put everything online. This is our website. This is what a professional cover page looks like. It’s got everything that’s required to start making sales.
Everything is generated. You’ll see a welcome pitch. If young Sam could just play it for 10 seconds.
Video: “I’m Derek.”
“How would you like to learn how you can lose up to 15 kilos of excess weight fast and safe? You might know me as Thunder from the popular TV show Gladiator. I’m also the World’s Strongest Diabetic.”
Derek: Thank you very much. It goes on. But basically, we went into the studio that weekend. Once we’re doing all of these interviews with people and in their garage studio on a green screen we’ve a teleprompter, there was already a written script for us. We just read off this TV and this is what you’re seeing. So if you want to go to the website and check it out, you’ll see what a professional site looks like.
The whole site was copyrighted by Monica Mandel. Thank you very much, Monica. Thank you.
The whole site revolves around this thing here, this opt-in box. This is what it’s all about. I didn’t even know what an opt-in box was four months ago to tell you the truth and we’ve since went everything there is. This is what makes it all happen. If you haven’t or don’t or already know, the money is in your list. We had this opt-in box created, we learned how to use an autoresponder, and with Monica as well as our copywriter we’re now generating some great things from it and we’ll continue on with that.
After we did that, the very next day – it happened a little bit like that. We were on A Current Affair, they came in and we’re on national television. This is what it looked like:
Video: “A weight loss program that causes rapid weight loss.”
Derek and his wife Sally, a qualified nutritionist have constructed a 30-day program which they say we’ll see participants lose up to five kilos a week. The eating plan involves preparing two meals the night before and then breaking them into 12 portions. The meal plan is then changed every ten days.
“It utilises advanced principles on nutrition, training, and mindset tools. They all come together to give you an optimised training effect.”
“Who’s excited about getting healthy?”
Derek: Okay. Now here’s the interesting thing, do you remember that opt-in box that we had?
Sally: Following the program, we had 700 people join our list in that site.
Derek: In the first week.
Sally: Thank you, Monica. That was really exciting for us.
Derek: Absolutely. That was the beginning of it. With the autoresponder, we started generating emails to all of them. We started developing a relationship with them from the very get-go to launch our product at some later time that we hadn’t already constructed. But I‘ll tell you what, at this time going into the New Year with only two weeks until the start of our program, we were bloody exhausted.
Sally: We needed help.
Derek: So we called our mentors and we accessed their immense networking system. And you know what, by just asking, it’s amazing who comes to your help.
Sally: Soon we have 25 people ready just to go, go, go.
Derek: Like that. We just asked.
Sally: Thank you to everybody who just jumped in and helped out.
Derek: We can’t get through all the names but we’re thankful to all of them. These are all experts in their own fields. If you take a quick photo of that I can guarantee you’ll get great service from all of them.
From that we started the program. We had an induction on the 14th of January and on the 16th we went to work. We encouraged everybody from the very start that this wasn’t going to be a boot style type training camp. We encouraged everybody to live their normal lives as is. The program had to work for anybody under their normal circumstances. That was very, very important.
Here are some of the results. This is what it is all about. Here’s one of our typical clients on the program. His name is Sonny. He lost 16.4 kilos in 30 days. These are not doctored photos, these are the originals. Do you see his before and after shots? He told us that it was the lightest he’d been in 17 years. In 30 days he had reversed 17 years worth of weight gain in 30 days.
Now here’s another superstar that we had in the program. You might know her. How’s that for a change?
Sally: Well done, Daryl. Awesome.
Derek: That was extraordinary. We had a family on the program. Both Daryl and Andrew are on it and together they lost more than 20 kilos between them. We’re immensely impressed.
We also have a plan with them. They’re also now on our 60-day program which follows the 30-day program. We do have a plan for them. We’re going to train them until this Christmas. So when you see them at the Christmas party this year, this is what you’re going to expect to see. That’s our plan. What do you guys think? [Participants applaud]
We’ll show you one other client before we go. This guy was extraordinary. He lost 22.5 kilos in 30 days. But most importantly, we made everybody do a health check, a blood test before and after the program. We wanted to see what sort of benefits we could have with health. He went from 170/110 with his blood pressure down to 110/65. Who thinks that’s good?
Sally: Yes, awesome.
Derek: These results aren’t just particular to one man; this is right across the board. Overall, all our clients when weighed up together, we averaged all their weight loss and this was the average for our entire client base of 40 people.
Sally: In just 30 days.
Derek: 30 days.
Derek: When we said from the very start that you can lose up to 15 kilos in 30 days, we weren’t joking. It wasn’t an imaginary sort of total; it’s an expectation on our program. We deliver – that’s the number one thing.
Sally: This day was so exciting for us. On the 15th of February, it was a Wednesday. We launched a pre-launch package. The product launched at 5:00 pm. By 5:05 we had sold seven packages.
Derek: In first five minutes.
Sally: Seven packages and we’ve continued to make thousands with this particular product – the pre-launch package.
Derek: This is where we are right now. Next week, you’ll see us again on A Current Affair. They came back to the weighing. They got everything that we’ve just described to you. You’ll see that this week and so with the rest of Australia. You’ll see that we have in the next 10 weeks, this is our structure. We’re going to release our online product at $797. We think that this is awesome value. It’s awesome. On top of that we have some backend product that will be coming from it. So we’re going to be doing some franchising, some supplements – with white label supplements, some e-books, some online support as well.
On the side you’ll see there’s an affiliate program. We’re going to be offering that to our clients. Can you imagine losing up to 15 kilos in a month and making hundreds even thousands of dollars whilst doing it? Who thinks that would be a good idea? We do, because we’re going to get our clients that love our products to go out and sell it to their friends and they’re going to get something of great value out of that as well.
On top of that, you can see corporate there. Last week, we were approached by this guy. Does anybody know who this guy is? The Super Butcher.
Sally: Andrew McDonald.
Derek: He’s a local guy, he’s a family guy, and he owns this massive butcher chain. Six stores here in the Gold Coast and Brisbane, he has over 12,000 people going through his stores each week. On top of that, he has over 100,000 people on his database which are all local. He has asked us to put together an 8-week weight loss program for his clients who he wants to give back to. He’s limited the amount that will come onto our program at a thousand. We’re going to have a thousand clients to deal with for eight weeks starting on Easter Monday.
Now let’s do some math on this. This is the quote that we gave back to him. This has only just happened this week. We’re going to charge each client $70 each for a package that we’ll give them. That will have the entire training kit in it, their diary, their pedometers and all the things that they’ll need, plus they’ll get a before and after shot image of their eight week program. On top of that, we’re going to charge each of those clients $200 each for the program in which they’re charged $25 per week for the entire program. That’s an upfront fee.
In total, if you do the math on that per client, its cost is $300,000 for eight weeks work. That to us is more turn over than we’ve created and made for the last three years. [Participants applaud] Thank you.
Importantly, to the Internet Secrets guys, we can afford to get to the end of the program. We’re after that as well. This is what we want to achieve.
Sally: We’d really want to affect the world we live in and have a huge impact on the health system.
Derek: We do have a plan. What we want to do is redefine weight loss in the world. We think there is so much wrong with it, there’s so much misinformation. What we want to do is reshape the world.
Sally: Who likes sexy? Sexy is good.
Derek: We’re going to sell the world what it wants and give it what it needs. In the same thing, we see a big problem with so many holes in it that if offers us an opportunity to put together something that’s outstanding within our marketplace and we have no doubt that we have an outstanding product.
In summary, over the last four months, we’ve gone from standing start, sitting where you guys are right now to getting national media. We went from having no business skills, no marketing skills. I can barely download an image on Facebook. At the moment, I’ve got to ring up that 16-year-old daughter to do that. We went from nothing to being driven to succeed to now turning over thousands of dollars and we’re looking over a quarter of a million contracts as we speak.
Sally: We did exactly what we were told from Daryl and Andrew and we are now blasting off into success. So a big, big, big huge thank you to Daryl and Andrew.
Derek: Thank you.
Sally: And to all the people that we’ve met through the Millionaires Club and Internet Secrets, the networking has been amazing.
Derek: One other thing, the thing that’s most important to us is for every single dollar that we make, we know that’s reflective of the great value that we’re giving back to our customers on this program. It changes lives and to us we get a great kick out of that. Changing people’s lives, they’re coming out to us saying, “You what, it feels great. Thank you very much.” We’re so appreciative and that gives us great kudos.
We’re going to answer a question that some of you might have – in fact, we think a lot of you may have. You’re wondering or may be wondering, can you yourselves achieve something as we have done in four months? Our answer to you is this: absolutely.
Derek: Absolutely. You don’t have to use our model and we’ve done something that’s our own. But we believe that anybody out here can actually do something similar very, very quickly through these guys.

One of the greatest things about being financially free is we get to do lots of travelling around the world with our kids. We also love the passive income and freedom that having a successful internet business brings.
One of our other passions is teaching other people how to achieve the same results. We get so much satisfaction and a real buzz out of seeing one of our students excel in their business and open up a world of financial independence.
The main way we’ve been able to teach people (as we don’t do one-on-one consulting anymore) is through our 4 Day workshops. We walk you through step by step exactly what we did, and by the end you have a takeaway strategy you can implement the very next day.
If you’ve never heard of us before and want to know what we’ll be teaching, here’s an outline of what we’ll be covering on each day:
DAY 1 – Friday 27 July. Today we’ll show you how to design your internet business. We see too many people get this bit horribly wrong! Either they leap in with no idea of what they’re going to do, and so they waste loads of time and money for no return. OR, they get so confused and overwhelmed that they don’t even know where to start.
If either of these is you, then by the end of this first day you’ll have a clear idea of why you’re getting online and what you’re going to sell. And most importantly, we’ll show you some quick, clever ways to research your niche so you can stand out from your competition.
DAY 2 – Saturday 28 July. Today is the nuts and bolts of building your internet business. We’ll show you how to create a website that gets people to take action – whether that’s to buy your product, come into your store, opt in to your list, or give you a call to place an order. We’re going to show you exactly what the best websites do to get great results. And we’ll give you loads of examples of the right and wrong ways to do it.
We’ll also show you how to write a winning sales letter. You know we have one sales letter that’s made us over a million dollars? We’ll show you how.
We then show you the very latest ways we’re using to drive loads of eager customers to our websites. We’ll show you in detail how we dominate page 1 of Google, use the latest in social media, set up high quality Joint Ventures, and loads more to quickly find hungry customers.
DAY 3 – Sunday 29 July. Today we finish off the process of building an online business by showing you how to tweak your website to get the most income out of it. That website that’s made us over a million dollars – would you believe we nearly canned it in the first few weeks? It wasn’t until we tweaked it (and we’ll show you how) that the money started flowing.
Then we show you something REALLY exciting – how you can supercharge the process, and create a 6 or 7 figure business in as little as 90 days. Over the last 4 years we’ve been involved in 15 of these businesses – at the workshop you’ll see why we think they’re the best thing since sliced bread!
DAY 4 – Monday 30 July. We know that none of this works without a success mindset, and a plan to make it all a reality. On this last day we show you the “secret sauce” that we add to all our internet businesses that makes them so successful. We first show you the techniques we use to identify and eliminate our subconscious blockages to being successful (yes, we’re still weeding them out!). Then we show you how we plan any new internet business so that we get the outcome (and the income!) we want from it. You’ll walk out at 5pm with a mini business plan, ready to start on Tuesday!
As you can see, the workshop is mainly us on stage, (except on the odd occasion where we bring in one of our faculty members to talk about stuff they’re better at!). It’s definitely NOT a sell-fest, with an unrelated series of 90 minute sales pitches!

Hear Nicks Inspiring inspirational journey from passive watcher to massive action taker.
Nick took his background in NLP and supercharged his business by applying a few key techniques and strategies he learned from The Grants.
It has enabled him to create a leveraged NLP business that allows him to run leveraged workshops (often times without him being involved at all!) and gives him lifestyle and time with family!
Nick’s presentation was inspiring, educational and a lesson to anyone that with a bit of hard work and determination you can do great things.
Some of Nick’s Major Learnings:
- All the knowledge in the world doesn’t mean anything if you don’t take Massive Action!
- Do whatever you have to do but start associating with people playing the game at a higher level than you. Just by being around these people, things happen and opportunities are abundant.
- Believe in the Value you provide and get over your issues with charging others for that value!
- Set lofty goals, get a coach who has achieved it and listen and action (without questioning it) whatever it is they have to say!
We’ll be inviting 8 empowering business builders to speak LIVE at our July workshop, along with our faculty experts and of course Andrew and Daryl themselves. Tickets are limited (and free for OIS blog readers!) so hurry on over and secure your ticket now.
How I Went From $16K per Year to $99800 in a Weekend
Nick: Like Andrew said, I’m going to show you guys in the next probably 15 minutes or so how I went from $16,000 a year (which sucks, doesn’t it?) to $99,800 in a weekend. I’ll tell you a little bit about my story and how we were able to do that.
What I want to do is actually take you right back to when I was 13. This is when this whole journey started for me. I’m the bigger one there on the screen. I had braces because I had bucked teeth. I had glasses – actually, I didn’t need them. The doctors got it wrong. I had a flat top haircut like Vanilla Ice. It’s not on the slide, but I had acne and I was taller and skinnier than everyone else. I was really attractive at 13. I made a decision at 13 years old, if I have no looks or I look pretty goofy and I had no money because my family was pretty much broke, I need to learn how to understand people.
At 13, I got my hands on a copy of a book by Allan Pease called “Body Language.” Has anyone seen that book? A good friend of mine in high school found a copy of that in the high school library. He wanted it because Allan Pease taught you that if you tell a lie with your palms out, people believe it. He wanted to be a better liar when he’s talking to his parents as much as 13-year-old boys still I suppose.
He told me about this book after two weeks. If you borrow a book, you get it for two weeks and you have to take it back. So I borrowed it and two weeks later, I had to take it back. He borrowed it and two weeks later, he took it back. I borrowed it – and this went on for about six months until the librarian ambushed us. We put it down on the table and she said, “Buy a bloody copy, okay?”
So, we had to go out and get a copy. That’s really what launched me into the personal development industry at age 13 even though I didn’t really know it at the time.
Fast forward a few years – 2001 I turned 21. That’s a big monumental occasion for most people. But what was probably bigger for me that year is the day after I went to visit that same friend who I was swapping the book with – we were still friends.
He just had a big argument with his girlfriend. He said, “Let’s go for a walk,” and it was about 8:00 at night in Parramatta in Sydney. It’s a super awesome place if you’re walking around at that time at night. We were held at gunpoint. I had a gun against my head, “Give us your money,” and all that kind of stuff. I literally thought I was going to die.
I ended up with posttraumatic stress disorder. I had that for five years, from age 21-26. Hopefully, no one in here has had any experience with that. It really messes you up. I almost failed uni as a result of that. I wouldn’t leave my bedroom. I kind of went progressively, I wouldn’t leave my bed, I wouldn’t leave my bedroom, then I wouldn’t leave my house. If I’d go outside I’d have to be home before dark. It went on and on and on until eventually I went to a seminar and learned some stuff – I’ll talk about in a minute – that helped me get over that.
I still managed to graduate uni. I graduated as an acupuncturist. That was my trade originally. That’s my girlfriend there on the screen [laugh]. That’s one of my lecturers from uni. We went and worked in a hospital in Beijing, so I got to fulfil my doctor fantasy, wear the white coat and all that kind of stuff. That was pretty cool. I came back to set up as an acupuncturist thinking, “This is fantastic. I love it. I’m going to heal the world.”
I never made over $16,000 a year as an acupuncturist. That’s not profit by the way. That’s total income. My expenses were equal, if not higher. I was busy going broke as an acupuncturist. Any acupuncturist in the room? No? Okay, they’ve all gone broke.
Two years later, I still wasn’t making any money. I thought, “I’ve got to do something about this.” I went along to a seminar and I saw Andrew and Daryl speak. They presented their e-book process. I was blown away by that so I signed up. I’ve got to get this thing. And I didn’t do a thing with it. What do you reckon happened? How much money did I make? Big fat zero. I didn’t use it all.
About six months later, I showed that program to my brother who was a bit of a computer genius. He went, “Oh, these steps to research e-books – that looks like a bit of hard work and I’m quite lazy. I’ll just write a bit of software and automate the whole process.” He did and it’s still sitting on his hard drive at home. He hasn’t done anything with it.
But I thought that was so exciting, I went to another seminar where I knew Andrew and Daryl would be speaking. I’ve got the guts up to go up and tell them about it. “We’ve got this great bit of software. It automates your e-book research.” Daryl said, “Here’s my business card and here’s my personal phone number and email address.” Who’d like it? I click a button in the sense of it flows away. Obviously I’m not going to do that. But Daryl gave me that.
Do you reckon the world changed overnight? No, I didn’t use it. Absolutely crazy – I didn’t use it.
What I realised is I had a lot of stuff in my head that was holding me back from being successful. So, I started researching options to fix my head. I came across neuro-linguistic programming and hypnosis. I spent the next year working really intensively on my mindset to fix that and I became an action taker big time as a result – from massive procrastinator to massive action taker.
I met my wife, Alex who’s just over there sitting on the ground with our little girl. I met Alex in 2007 in October and – how’s this for action – moved in the same day, just literally never went home.
Andrew: Just hold on. I’m going to interrupt here. Alex, come up here for a second. This is worth seeing. This is breathtaking action, mate. Put your hand up if you reckon Nick is punching above his weight here. This is Alex, everybody. And this is the result of moving in on the first day I think [laugh].
Nick: Take action.
Andrew: Good stuff. That’s worth seeing as taking action…
Nick: What’s this about “punching above his weight”?
Andrew: Yes, mate [laugh]. I just looked at the photos of you. Sorry if I interrupted there. Thanks very much.
Nick: That’s all right. A round of applause for my gorgeous wife. Thank you.
We were married 11 months after the day that I refused to go home. That was fantastic. We got married on the edge of a cliff on the northern beaches in Sydney. That was on Alex’s request in case she changed her mind. That was really awesome.
I still wasn’t making any money though. I became an action taker. I heard about the World Internet Summit. How’s this for action? A good friend of mine had bought tickets to the seminar and she rang me that night and said, “I’m at this event. It’s at the Convention Centre in Sydney. It’s really awesome. They’re not checking name tags. I reckon you can sneak in.”
We lived just down the road; we live in Griffith at the time. I was a bit nervous but I did that the next day. I’ve seen Brett McFall who runs that event and he thinks it’s hilarious because I’ve spent a lot of money at the event that I didn’t really have.
I saw a lady up on stage speaking about a basic marketing training program and she did a presentation. She said, “This will cost $2,000,” and I went, “I’ve got to do that but I don’t have the money.” I went home and I found in an account exactly $2,000 saved up to pay my taxes. I went, “Screw the government. That money goes to Debra.” That’s exactly what we did. We bought that.
What I thought a really good idea is, Alex and I hated our jobs, we were both working full-time – Alex was doing translation for an online poker company because she’s French, French in English; and I was teaching English to Japanese in Korean students, which I had no passion for at all. I used to carry Daryl’s business card around in my wallet with the idea that one day I was going to get the guts up to call – and I did. We’re walking around Circular Quay in Sydney and Alex said, “You just call that bloody number and stop talking about it. It’s been years.”
So I rang up and Andrew answered the phone, “Hi, it’s Andrew Grant here.”
“Hi, Andrew. It’s Nick Cownie.”
He was like, “Nick who?”
“We met a couple of times.”
He said, “Yeah, right. What can I do for you?”
I said, “I just want to work with you guys and do something.”
“So, what’s your idea?”
“I really want to work with you guys and do something.”
Andrew said to me, “Well, you’ve put yourself ahead of 99% of the pack just by having the guts to call.”
Inside my head I’m going, “If only I’d done that three years ago.”
“This coming weekend we’re running a Members Only 2-day workshop up here on the Gold Coast. If you can get there, you can come as our guest. We’ll go and have lunch and we’ll talk and see if there’s something we can do together.”
Is that pretty cool? That’s awesome – just because I had the guts to make the phone call. I went, “Yes, sure. I’ll be there.” Click. “Oh God, what have I done?” I turned around to Alex.
This is where we’re living at the time in Chatswood. We’ve got no money but I have to go. I actually didn’t have a hotel booked until I got there on the day. I’ll sleep on the park bench if I have to. I flew up there and had lunch with Andrew and Daryl. Things started to change. But when I got home, I was talking to Alex.
We lived in this place here and this is a studio apartment. That photo is taken like this – click, click. You can see I’ve got something circled in red there. That is a stain in the corner of the roof. That’s actually a dead possum. It’s decomposed and its juice is sucked into the gyproc and stunk the place up. So we had to get out of there in a hurry.
But in 2009 we’re still making no money, really frustrated, and we thought there’s only one logical thing to do. We’re going to go on a holiday and go and make a baby. When you’re under pressure, what you really need is more pressure. That’s exactly what we did and it actually worked really well.
Who has kids? Do you find it hard to motivate yourself to do things for yourself? If I said, “You’ve got to get up at 5:00 am tomorrow morning to go to the gym,” yes, a good one, “You’ve got to get up at 5:00 am tomorrow morning and take your kids somewhere really important,” would you do it? Absolutely. That lit a fire under my backside that was super, super hot.
I went back to the Our Internet Secrets 4-day workshop just like this. I was sitting there and going, “Oh, I’ve got to get up on that stage. This is a pretty special day for me.” I saw a lady speak, Janet Beckers. Janet wasn’t pitching anything, but I was so enraptured by her presentation that I chased her down in the break and interrupted her lunch. I said, “I’m so sorry. I know you didn’t sell anything. I know you’ve probably got stuff to sell. I want to buy whatever it is.” She went, “Um, okay. Sure.”
Over the next week, I’ve signed up for Janet’s program on running interview teleseminars and making a membership site. The thing that inspired me was when she said, “When you’re up there, go for the people at the top. Don’t shoot low.” That’s exactly what I did. I created an audio series called “Inside the Millionaire Mindset.”
Some of these people you might recognise if you’re into this whole industry. There’s Yaro Starak, there’s Janet, there’s Jo Martin who I think I heard Daryl said will be speaking at some point. Jo is awesome. In the bottom right-hand corner there’s Tim Ferriss who wrote “The 4-Hour Workweek.” I had Tim Ferriss lined up about a week and a half before I was due to interview him, his personal assistant sent me an email saying, “Tim can’t make it anymore. He’s gone snowboarding in Japan.” If you’ve read “The 4-Hour Workweek,” that’s a very Tim Ferriss excuse.
Is Paul speaking as well this weekend? Okay, on Monday you guys will see Paul. Paul is the master. He’s my idol. Paul’s absolutely brilliant. Paul runs Beyond Success which is probably the biggest coaching, training company in Australia. He invited me to come and be the resident NLP mindset expert for his coach training. Now I go down and teach all of his people a couple of times a year all the techniques that I know and use, which is awesome.
We started making some money finally – a sigh of relief. We managed to buy a house. This is our house in Catumba. That’s where we lived up until six months ago. We moved up here to be closer to Andrew and Daryl and the Millionaires Club. So now that’s an investment property for us, which is awesome.
But what’s really cool is the dodgy little apartment we lived in will fit in the kitchen in the house that we had in Catumba. That was really cool for us. Imagine that feeling of relief and excitement when you compare those two photos and realise our whole house, our whole life would fit in the kitchen. Plus, we’ve actually got space for a fridge now, which is really cool.
2010 I started running NLP trainings and I was invited to speak all over the place. I started doing really well. As you can see, they’re quite full rooms and I’m getting around and speaking.
That’s when our daughter was born, Emilia, who’s just the absolute love of my life. I love her beyond words. Absolutely amazing.
I went on a bit of a personal mission to meet everybody that I could in the Internet marketing and information marketing areas. Some of these people you might know. There’s Brett McFall on the top left-hand corner – he runs the World Internet Summit – Armand Morin, Joanna Martin, Matt and Amanda Clarkson, Andrew and Daryl in the centre of course. The guy pointing to me like that, his name is Simon Leung. You heard a bit about Google AdWords – that guy wrote Google AdWords. He designed the whole thing.
I met some really cool people and learned some more some stuff. All of a sudden, getting some momentum now, people are starting to interview me. My first ever interview was with West Loh. West is the first person to ever interview me – that was really cool.
I went information product crazy. We started with a newsletter, we started running courses. Probably Andrew or Daryl told me to film it and turn it into videos and audio products. We put up membership sites and multimedia courses. That started taking over. But what got really exciting is in February last year, I went back to the same World Internet Summit where Brody bought the Facebook training.
I was having a chat with Andrew and Daryl there. I saw a lot of people selling $25,000 programs and I thought, “I reckon I can do that too.” Luckily for me, one of the speakers was boring at the time. So I sat there and made notes. If I was going to sell something for $25,000, what would I put in that program? I sketched it out and created a program that I called “The Lifestyle Business Blueprint,” put a $25,000 price tag on it, and I told Andrew and Daryl about it.
One week later, I had 16 people in the room, and four people bought that program at $24,950 which is 25% conversion rate. I sent a text to Andrew saying, “I’m so excited. I told you last week I was going to do it. I just made $99,800 in a weekend and I’m absolutely blown away.” We were so excited – Alex and I – that when people were signing the forms at the back of the room, we had to excuse ourselves and walked down the stairs. We got halfway down the stairs and we’re going like this. We were blown away.
In June last year, we applied and we were accepted into the Millionaires Club. Of course, we went and got some champagne and wine, which is what we have for dinner every night because Alex is French. We started coming to the Our Internet Secrets 2-day Members Only workshops.
In July, we went to the Lucrative Niches workshop. I didn’t do too much after that one. But Alex had a great idea. Alex used to be a professional ballet dancer, so I really am punching above my weight here. She had a great idea which is, “Let’s do some research on how many people want to become professional ballerinas.”
The search term – this is Google Keyword, I took this last week by the way – “How to be a ballerina.” There are just over 1.8 million searches a month, which is pretty good. There’s some good traffic there. If you type that into Google, there are about 28.5 million sites up about that. So, it’s quite a bit of competition.
We put a site up and got it ranked on page one of Google. Do you want to see the site? That’s the website. The content we learned at that Lucrative Niches workshop was so good, we put a site up with no content and got on page one of Google. Isn’t that awesome? There’s nothing on it yet.
In July, I went to another Our Internet Secrets workshop “Build Your Brand with a Book.” Like I said, action taken out, it’s all about action. You can learn it and do nothing with it. You get no results, 57 days later I had my book written which I thought was fantastic. Not to be outdone, Alex came up with an idea and wrote a book in 14 days. Alex’s book “How to be a Ballet Dancer,” that’s what we’re going to put on that site with all that crazy traffic on page one of Google. Sound like a good idea?
In September I thought, “Well, saw that $25,000 program. Let’s do it again.” We had Millionaires Club coaching with Andrew and Daryl. I took the concept to them and Daryl and Andrew gave me one tip. They said, “Everything you’re doing is great. Do this one thing differently.” We went from 25% conversion to 75% conversion. Is that awesome or what? Absolutely amazing. Three times the number of sales from one tiny tip that they told me, which just blew me away.
In December last year, I was introduced by Andrew to Derek and Sally who were just over here in the corner. You get to hear from these guys tomorrow. Absolutely amazing. They’ve launched probably the world’s best weight loss program – I won’t go into because that’s their baby and their story.
What happened is Andrew put us in touch because they had the exercise, they had the diet, and they wanted the mindset to have a complete system. Andrew said, “We’ll plug Nick into your system and then it’s good to go.” One month later, that program was featured on national TV, which is just awesome.
In February this year, we spent Valentine’s Day in the most romantic day possible – we came to a workshop with Andrew and Daryl on membership sites. They had all these examples of “This is a membership site we built in three days. This one we built in three days.” I went, “I’m going to do that too.” But I failed miserably. It took me four days. So, I created a site called How to Close the Sale Fast! From concept to finish and up, ready to go in four days.
Just a month ago, we went to our last Millionaires Club meeting and I told them I am sick of running workshops in seminar rooms. It’s not working for me. I’ve just been screwed up by the venue in Sydney and I’ve got a seminar coming up in two weeks. I’m looking for ways to fix that. The concept I had was running workshops live online.
I’ve got a ton of great feedback from Andrew and Daryl and 14 days later, I ran the world’s first 100% live online NLP training, which is just awesome. As you can see, that’s not me on the screen – I didn’t teach that. I have staff who work for me. That girl was in Perth. We had a couple in Perth, a bunch of people in Queensland, New South Wales, Adelaide, Victoria, and one woman in Tassie – all doing that training at the same time online with live video streaming. First time ever in the world, absolutely brilliant.
What’s next for me is I’m in the process of researching how to get my own TV show. You guys have seen that show Fear Factor? Well, my book is about “7 Minute Mindset,” how to eliminate fear, procrastination, and failure in 7 minutes or less. I want to get people – make them really scared. Here’s a spider and then seven minutes later, they can have that thing crawling up all over their arm. That’s my big goal for this year.
I’ve got a meeting on Wednesday with someone who’s going to become my international speaking manager. I’ll be speaking all over the world. This week I’m going to a workshop on franchising because we want to take our concept of live online NLP training and franchise it and sell it all over the world. That’s what’s next for me.
Once that’s done, Alex and I want to move to France and buy a castle and just have babies – hopefully without sleep problems.
Nick: Thanks. So that’s what’s next for me. But what’s next for you is I have discovered the absolute secret to success on the Internet. Do you know what it is? You take the Internet, you add Andrew and Daryl, you do exactly what they say, and then you make money. It couldn’t get any easier. That’s exactly what it is, right?
I told you guys a couple of years ago I was looking and going, “I’ve got to be up on that stage,” and now I am. Is there anyone sitting there going “I’ve got to be up on that stage”? I tell you, in three or six months time, if this happens again, it will be one of you up on stage doing this. It ain’t rocket surgery. Take the advice, do what they say, get the results. It’s that simple.
That’s how I went from $16,000 a year to $99,000 in a weekend. Hopefully, you found some use in that. Thank you very much for your time.
