Million Dollar Marketing Funnel Update
Posted on 19. Apr, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Today, Our Internet Secrets Faculty member, Greg Cassar, delivered a jaw dropping teleconference call for OIS members with the help of Annette Welsford.
Not only is Greg an internet marketer extraordinaire … but he is very generous with his knowledge, too.
Greg filled an entire hour and then some – sharing his knowledge on how he uses social media and other strategies to explode his online marketing.
He is using cutting edge methods that neither Annette nor I had heard before … and our brains were exploding with possibilities. Don’t worry – my fingers were racing across the keyword and I took 12 pages of notes – must be a record I think
so you can read all about it inside the Our Internet Secrets members area.
So the key things that Greg covered today were:
- lead generation
- structuring your business like a long term strategic marketer
- building a marketing funnel behind your business
- driving traffic
- capturing leads
- upselling
- using social media
- tips to increase your conversion
If you’re an Our Internet Secrets member … this is one of those calls that is a “must” listen to … even though I’ve taken some great notes … I didn’t get everything down – and you will want to listen to this one to get all the gems.
Cheers

Your Mindset Is The Secret To Success
Posted on 07. Apr, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Hi – its Julie … I just had to let you know what an impact Paul Blackburn’s teleconference call had on the people who listened to the call … the feedback has been really inspiring.
Lynne Bodman, one Our Internet Secrets members, wrote to me with this message:
Made Me Sit Back And Think, ‘He Is Right’Thought I should listen to this before going to bed, otherwise I probably wouldn’t get around to it. I am so glad I did. I found it absolutely compelling to listen to, and as a result, it is now around 2.30am in the morning, and I am totally, wide awake. So much of what Paul had to say made me sit back and think, ‘He is right’. Especially the bit about failure and success, and how much better it is to have two choices instead of three. Those being failure, success, or doing nothing at all. Wonderful stuff. The next time I find myself putting things off, I will be listening to this audio again because it definitely gets you back on track. Well done to the OIS team. Lynne |
When you listen to a 1 hour recording between two inspirational people, Daryl Grant and Paul Blackburn, there are multitudes of gold nuggets and precious gems dropped – almost casually – into the conversation.
Each person who listens to this recording – will hear the jewels that are perfect for them.
I wanted to share a couple that stood our for me. When Daryl said that she still feels overwhelmed at times … I really listened to how she handles this. It was great advice. I’m not going to tell you her answer – because you will learn so much more if you listen to the call.
The other key point that stood out for me – and it may be a huge learning for you as well – is that Daryl and Andrew, and Paul, are not afraid of making mistakes. In fact, many of the things that they do – don’t work out as expected.
And the jewel of wisdom I learned from this is – “the idea or concept may not work” but that doesn’t mean that you are a failure as a person.
If you are a member of Our Internet Secrets – I strongly encourage you to listen to teleconference call #118 – if you aren’t a member and would like to know more about Our Internet Secrets, email me at support@ourinternetsecrets.com and one of our team will call you.
Warm regards … Julie Lewin

The Most Common Mindset Questions
Posted on 05. Apr, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Hi everyone – this is Daryl. We’ve just finished a fantastic call with Paul Blackburn who is the mindset coach on the faculty of Our Internet Secrets.
Often times, Andrew and I are asked questions about mindset and the impact that mindset can actually have on the success of your internet business.
Now, if you’ve heard Andrew and I talk about what we’ve done you’ll know that mindset was an absolutely major part of our success online. In fact, we had set ourselves a 5 year goal to become financially independent and 4½ years into that goal we had earned absolutely no passive income.
We tried a whole bunch of stuff and while it made money – none of it was actually making money passively. And … it wasn’t until we figured out what the common denominator was. And that common denominator was us and our mindset.
The Mindset Is The Key To Success
It wasn’t till we discovered that and realised we had some barriers to earning passive income and then addressed those – that things changed.
In fact, it was just a matter of weeks later that we discovered the strategy that has gone onto create for us a multi-million dollar business … most of which operates on autopilot.
We often get asked questions around mindset and so what we thought we would do on the call today was collate the most commonly asked questions and then have Paul Blackburn address those questions from his point of view. They were things like:
- How do I deal with procrastination?
- How do I deal with overwhelm?
- How do I deal with that feeling of not deserving to be wealthy?
Because all of these things will stop you from being successful in your internet business.
The Triangle For Success
We talk about the triangle. There are 3 things that you need in order to be success. You need:
• A great system
• Take physical action and implement what you learn
• Mindset
The mindset is the thing that is often neglected. You need to have a mindset that supports you being successful and earning passive income. Paul has been working in this area for over 30 years and he certainly has some wonderful insights for us.
So, if you are a member of Our Internet Secrets, go and listen to the call today and enjoy those words of wisdom from Paul.
See you later,
Daryl

How To Find A Great Niche For An Information Product
Posted on 30. Mar, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Hi everyone – it’s Daryl here … Andrew and I have just finished the Our Internet Secrets teleconference call and this week’s topic was “How To Find A Great Niche For An Information Product”.
You see … you’re always going to do a lot better selling an information product if you have a nice tight niche where you are marketing to a bunch of people who all have very similar needs, wants, fears, frustrations and so on.
Now, over the years we have tested a number of criteria which make a really good niche. In fact, we’ve narrowed it down to about 11 criteria that we use in order to make sure that a niche is going to be highly profitable and really easy to sell into.
So what we did on the call was we went through all 11 of those criteria and we talked about each one – why it is important and how it works. Now, some are important for ebooks, some for membership sites, some for the ultimate business model and some for offline businesses.
You’ll see in our other programs how you should narrow those down and select just a few of those criteria for each of those business models. What we wanted to share with you today is all of the criteria we use whenever we are evaluating a new business.
By doing this sort of planning upfront you make sure that it absolutely maximises the amount of money that you are getting out of the project and minimises the amount of time and effort that you need to put into it to make it truly successful.
So guys I hope you enjoyed the call today. If you are a member of Our Internet Secrets go and listen to that and stay tuned for some more good information next week.
See you later.
Daryl

Benefits Of Using Webinars Part 2
Posted on 15. Mar, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Hi everbody, its Andrew here and welcome to the Our Internet Secrets site.
We have just got off the phone with Dr Joanna Martin who has taken us through how to promote a profitable webinar. This is basically part 2 of the webinar series that she has done and she took us through some really cool things.
Some of the topics that she covered were basically why webinars are a powerful tool to build your relationship with your community. It was really interesting to see how webinars take us to the next level in terms of being able to communicate and build a relationship with your list, with your community and your group … and the people you are talking to.
It is superior at times to just being on a teleconference call and an email in that sense. It gets you the extra tools in order to impact your list and your clients.
She also covered a number of other things … basically some of the nuts and bolts about setting up your webinar system. She talked about the system to use and the best time to run a webinar and a number of other things in terms of opt-in pages and getting that working for you and so on.
If you are one of Our Internet Secrets members I really encourage you to jump on line and go to teleconference #116 and listen to this talk today where Joanna really shared some of the key processes that she’s been up to there.
She really unleashes some of the hidden secrets in making webinars a profitable business for you.
Thanks very much and we’ll talk to you soon.

Google’s Recent Algorithm Change – The Farmer/ Panda Update and How it Affects You
Posted on 14. Mar, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
What is the Farmer / Panda Update?
Last month – Google released an update to it’s search algorithm (which is internally referred to the “Panda” update) which has seen a large amount of re-shuffling of organic search results in the United States. The focus of the algorithm change was to provide higher quality search results for users of the search engine by reducing the ranking of what Google now deems “low quality sites”. This is a common trend we have seen in Google’s last major update as they are moving towards their goal of providing the best possible search experience for their users.
A recent post on Google’s Webmaster Forum made by staff member Michael “Wysz” from the company’s Product Quality team sheds some insight into the change:
“Our recent update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites, so the key thing for webmasters to do is make sure their sites are the highest quality possible. We looked at a variety of signals to detect low quality sites. Bear in mind that people searching on Google typically don’t want to see shallow or poorly written content, content that’s copied from other websites, or information that are just not that useful. In addition, it’s important for webmasters to know that low quality content on part of a site can impact a site’s ranking as a whole. For this reason, if you believe you’ve been impacted by this change you should evaluate all the content on your site and do your best to improve the overall quality of the pages on your domain. Removing low quality pages or moving them to a different domain could help your rankings for the higher quality content.”
This update has affected 11.8% of all US search queries, an enormous number when you consider the amount of people using the search engine in the US.
How does Google deem a site “Low Quality”?
The update to the algorithm has endowed Google’s crawling robots with new tools to establish whether or not a site is of low quality. There are some specific things which they are searching for which, if found, will adversely affect your organic rankings. To give you an overview on what they are looking for:
- Weak Content (content that is of not enough depth to be useful)
- Poorly Written Content
- Content which has been copied from other sites (this has always been a red flag for Google, though now more than ever are they enforcing this via lower placements in rankings)
- Content that’s simply not useful to visitors
These identifiers are polar opposites to what Google wishes to provide to its users so it is no wonder that sites containing much of this weak content are ranking lower as of late.
Our research has uncovered another interesting point regarding this; substantial low quality content on a site can bring the rankings of the entire site down – not simply the pages containing the thin content – so make sure that all of your blog posts are well written and add value to your visitors’ experience.
Other elements which they are looking for are:
- A decent “ad to content ratio”. What this means is don’t overdo advertising on your site.
- A good, clean, simple navigation structure. Please Note: If you are a member of Our Internet Secrets and have had your website designed by us, you’ll notice that the templates and navigation structure we use adhere to the good user experience that Google finds valuable in a site. So that’s one less issue for you to worry about!
So what does this all mean to you?
Currently this update is not yet live in Australia – but it is simply a matter of time before Google rolls the new algorithm out here and in other countries.
Now is an important time for website owners (and those in the process of creating a site) to think from a different perspective; structure your content in line with what your audience is looking for.
This goes further than simply your sales copy – you will need to ensure that all pages in your site contain high quality, relevant information. A simple way of doing this is by a manual audit: go through all of your pages and read them! Ensure you have used your main keywords in headings and that all pages contain content which is actually relevant to these keywords. No Fluff.
If you have pages that contain poorly written or irrelevant content, consider replacing them or removing them altogether.
Once you’re satisfied that your content meets Google’s value proposition – shift your focus to promoting your site through a variety of avenues (such as social media) and engaging your prospects and website visitors. Ask them for their opinions, use tools to help them spread the word, write thought provoking blogposts which engender comments. Websites are no longer static one way information channels. The more content rich, relevant and active your site is, the more traffic and backlinks you will receive. The reward is higher page rankings for your keywords and maybe even lower CPC costs.
“Think of the web as the Territory and Google as a Map. If you can establish yourself in the territory, the map will want to list you” – Marty Rozmanith, http://wpdirect.com
Being proactive and prepared ahead of the rollout of the new algorithm into Australia will set you up to reap the benefits, whilst your competitors are still wondering what happened!

eBay Search Engine vs Google
Posted on 09. Mar, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Hi everybody … its Andrew Grant here and thanks for coming to the Our Internet Secrets blog. If I was to ask you the question, what would be the biggest or largest search engine in the world – what would you answer?
Well … most people would come back with answer Google as being the largest search engine in the world. But did you know last year eBay released figures saying that more searches are done on their internal search engine than Google. That’s a pretty amazing stat – making eBay one of the largest search engines in the world.
Now, how does that make you money?
Well … one of the things you need to understand with eBay is that people coming there on a regular information not only to find information, but to find things that they can buy.
Just think about it … when people go to Google – they go there to find the answer to a problem or to find information on something. So they’ll type in a request for information. When people go to eBay they go there to find a product … something to buy – and that is a point of commerce and that’s where the money is happening.
So … how does it all relate to you guys out there. Well, eBay is a fantastic tool for you to be able to make money – even if you are not an avid eBay user yourself. If you are a direct response marketer – if you are somebody who makes money online which you should be if you are involved with Our Internet Secrets then eBay is something that you can’t ignore.
I’ve just gotten off the phone with Matt Clarkson from www.biddingbuzz.com.au and Matt’s a faculty member of Our Internet Secrets and he’s also a good friend of ours. Matt and his wife Amanda are ebay magicians.
What I mean by that is that they have learned the magic of eBay and they’re able to make a lot of money in this area. Matt shared with us some key strategies for us as Our Internet Secrets members as to how we can get ahead and use eBay to make money. Some of the ways he taught us was how you could use information products to generate lists and how to sell information products – straight one up off eBay itself.
Also he showed us some tips and tricks about how you can get to the top of the search engines over other people who are advertising on eBay itself. He let us into some insider information about the eBay algorithm how its changed in recent months and how these changes affect where you come on the eBay rankings.
So … he has shown us how to get better positioning in the eBay search engines. All of these things when you put it together help you make more money with your program.
Take a moment – if you are an Our Internet Secrets member and go and listen to the call that I have done with Matt Clarkson and he will share some of the eBay magic that he has been able to apply in his business and he has taught thousands of other people all around the world.
Do that now … and if you are not an Our Internet Secrets member and you can’t hear that message … then you should be. Go and find out under the products section there about how to become an Our Internet Secrets member.
Thanks very much … and will talk to you again soon.

Jewels of Wisdom – Computers
Posted on 03. Mar, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Its been a while since I shared some of my Jewels of Wisdom with you … so thought I’d share with you an insight I learned recently.
Jewel of Wisdom #21 – Little Known Secret About Laptop Battery
I started getting messages that my computer battery needed replacing as it wasn’t re-charging.
The cost of a new battery for your laptop is around $150 depending on your computer brand.
The good salesman at the computer shop I went to said, “We don’t stock laptop batteries … but before you buy one – try taking it out and putting it back in again and see if it will recharge.”
Great news … it did!
But that’s not all he told me … this is a little known secret in the computer industry.
When you are not using your battery – ie., you are connected to main power … you should take your battery out of your laptop.
Then you won’t experience the problem that I have had with the battery dying within 12 months of buying your computer.
Until next time …

Collaborative eBooks
Posted on 01. Mar, 2011 by Our Internet Secrets.
Hi everyone its Daryl here … and I’ve just gotten off the phone with Janet Beckers one of the faculty members of Our Internet Secrets. You’ll probably know Janet as the owners of www.wonderfulwebwomen.com and she is our joint venture expert on the Our Internet Secrets faculty.
Janet was talking today about a fantastic new project that she has been working on which is a collaborative eBook. It’s a wonderful way to do a whole bunch of things, but in particular, generate leads for their business.
The idea was that she has asked a whole bunch of people to contribute to a book and all of the contributors then contribute a chapter each and then the book goes viral. So it’s an eBook and she is also looking at publishing it as a hardcopy book.
She has done three of them in the past, but this particular one is about how to stay focused on your dreams.
Janet particularly works on the principle of getting as many wins out of any project that she does as possible. So, of course, Janet’s going to win:
- she’s going to get her name out there
- she’s going to build her list
But other people in the project also get to win and this is what makes Janet’s projects just so successful.
- The people who are contributing to the book all get to actually put a link in the book and give away a free gift – so they get to build their list as well.
- The people who receive the book as a free gift, because the book is given away – its fantastic content from the book … things that they can learn.
- Those who receive the book and decide to buy something get fantastic content as well. They become clients of all the people who’ve contributed.
What I particularly like about what Janet does, is the collaborative way that she produces things. Janet just doesn’t go – hey guys here’s a project – who wants to be part of it. She gets her entire group to contribute.
She asks them questions like – “What should we do with the topic for the book this year?” She’ll get the involvement of the whole community. She’ll ask for people to volunteer to do different tasks from the book. She might get someone to volunteer to do the graphics and someone else to volunteer the formatting and layout and so on.
So it is a very collaborative effort and lots of wins all round and I’m sure that this one will be as huge a success as the last three of these collaborative eBooks that she’s done.
If you haven’t done it already … if you a member of Our Internet Secrets, go and listen to the call today. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and keep an eye out for Janet’s launch when the book comes out next week.
Daryl
