Oh my goodness!!!!  What a fabulous workshop Matt and Liz Raad had on the weekend.

My mind is still buzzing with all the great information that was shared.  I took half a notebook full of notes !!!

The thing I loved so much about Matt and Liz’s workshop is that they have shown everyone that you can start an internet business or a bricks and mortar business, whether your budget is $1 or $1Million+ … and whatever your entry point – you need to follow the same rules.

Its hard to pick out a few key points – as there were so many … but here’s some of my favourites:

Jewel of Wisdom #5 – Back Up Your List

I can’t imagine how devastating it would be to lose my list!

Your list is one of your most valuable assets.  Make sure you export your list off the server and put it in a safe place.

Don’t rely on your list service provider to have a back up of your data.

You would be gutted to hear that your list service provider’s servers were destroyed in a hurricane or a fire.

Make sure that backing up your website, your list and your documents to an external hard drive dedicated to back ups is part of your system.

Jewel of Wisdom #6 – How To Find Out What Your Niche Market Wants

Have you wondered how you can find out what questions your market is actually asking?

This is one of the questions I get asked a lot on the Our Internet Secrets help desk.  Go to this link:

type in your keyword, and you will see what people are actually typing into the search engines.

This is a vital part of your research when trying to find out what answers your market is looking for.

Jewel of Wisdom #7 – How To Get New Leads

These are the tips I learned at Matt and Liz’s workshop for getting new leads:

1. referrals
2. sales consultant / rep
3. advertising
4. direct mail / lumpy mail
5. website – opt-in box
6. joint ventures with other list owners
7. seminars – networking or speaking from stage
8. radio
9. yellow pages
10. get on page 1 of google for your keywords
